José Francisco Nazario, PRSA Vice President for the 2020-2022 term, earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico. He has 37 years of experience in the Maritime Industry, starting in 1981 as a clerk in Navieras de Puerto Rico and moved to the Port of New Orleans as an Operations Trainee, which was the base for his Cargo Operations expertise. In 1985, Mr. Nazario joined the Crowley team, where he has been engaged in various functions, including Manager of Caribbean Islands Operations and Port Director of San Juan Terminal Operations. In his role as Senior Director, he has been actively overseeing the “Commitment Project,” which consists of the deployment of two (2) state of the art LNG Powered Con-Ro Vessels and the construction of a new pier in San Juan. Nazario participates actively in the Puerto Rico Shipping Association, where he has occupied positions as Secretary and Vice President of the Board of Directors.
